The Bronze Shields of Passaic County

The Bronze Shields of Passaic County is an African American Law Enforcement Association. We are comprised of African American Law Enforcement Officers who live or work in Passaic County. Our membership includes officers from the Paterson Police, Passaic County Sheriff Department, Passaic County Prosecutors Office, Bergen County Police, Prospect Park Police, Elmwood Park Police, Saddle Brook Police and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. We were established in 2009 by officers who felt that some community issues need to be addressed from a different perspective. This meant providing Community Service Projects sponsored by Law Enforcement Officers that the community live and work alongside of every day.

Mission Statement

The purpose of this organization is to promote unity among African American Law Enforcement officers within the Passaic County community. To provide community based solutions that have a direct impact on the African American, Latino and other communities. We will achieve this through various programs designed to empower youth, enhance the professional, career and personal training of our membership and others in our profession, improve the quality of life in poor and low income communities and strengthen the bonds between community members and their Law Enforcement representatives. Also we will coordinate with organizations of similar concerns to achieve likeminded goals. Finally, we will utilize some of the following tolls as keys to our success: expose youth to the Criminal Justice Field, training conferences for Law Enforcement and community members, member advocacy sessions and various other endeavors
